Hello, I am Hira- an experienced teacher, examiner, and subject specialist in English, Psychology, and Sociology, with over 18 years of teaching experience across leading schools in the UK and internationally, including both private and grammar schools.
As a former Head of English and a senior examiner, I bring a clear understanding of what exam boards are really looking for. I know how marks are awarded, where students often lose them, and how to develop the skills needed to achieve strong, consistent results.
I was awarded Student of the Year during my PGCE at the University of Nottingham, reflecting both my academic strength and commitment to outstanding teaching from the very start of my career.
I’ve worked with students across a wide range of abilities and stages—from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level—supporting them in building confidence, improving their writing, and developing clear, analytical thinking. My teaching is structured and tailored, focusing on each student’s individual strengths and areas for development.
I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent students and those with additional learning needs, supported by my work alongside SEN teams, psychologists, and specialist staff. This has shaped a patient, adaptable approach where lessons are carefully tailored to suit different learning styles, helping every student feel supported and able to succeed.
In addition to my school-based roles, I have privately tutored a wide range of students since the age of 20, including working with VIP families in the Middle East, delivering a highly personalised and discreet tutoring experience tailored to individual goals and expectations.
Alongside this, I have supported students through 11+ entrance exams, Phonics and Reading, GCSEs, and A-Levels, as well as working with younger learners through phonics and early literacy. My approach is flexible and responsive, ensuring that each lesson is purposeful, engaging, and aligned with the student’s goals.
My aim is simple: to provide clear guidance, effective strategies, and the confidence students need to succeed both in exams and beyond.
